Safe practice begins before the first class.
QAS plans child-related programs with the host school, confirms responsibilities before delivery and expects professional, age-appropriate conduct from every teacher.

Attendance, arrival, collection and visitor arrangements are confirmed for each program.

QAS teachers hold valid Queensland Blue Cards
QAS records and checks Blue Card status before assigning teachers to child-related work. Blue Card numbers and identity documents are not published. Appropriate verification can be provided securely to a school during supplier review or onboarding.
Safety arrangements are agreed for each program.
QAS works with the host school to confirm practical responsibilities before students take part.

Before delivery
Confirm the venue, year levels, group size, supervision responsibilities, emergency contacts and relevant school procedures.

During each session
Maintain attendance information, supervise students actively and follow the agreed arrangements for visitors and movement around the venue.

Arrival and collection
Follow the host school’s or agreed parent-authorised process. Students are not released outside the agreed arrangement.

Incidents and emergencies
Respond to immediate needs, contact emergency services when required, document the incident and notify the appropriate school or parent contact.
Concerns are taken seriously and acted on promptly.
QAS receives concerns respectfully, protects information appropriately and acts on immediate safety needs.

Receive and listen
Listen carefully and do not make promises of confidentiality.

Record accurately
Document the concern and limit access to people who need the information.

Act on immediate risk
Call 000 if a child is in immediate danger and take appropriate immediate safety action.

Escalate and cooperate
Notify the QAS Child Safety Contact and cooperate with the host school’s process.

Support required reporting
Make or support any report required by applicable law or the relevant authority.

Appropriate information can be provided securely during a school’s supplier review or onboarding process. Sensitive teacher and child records are not published publicly.
